Run, Karen Bass, Run!

“I am all in if Karen Bass runs for mayor of Los Angeles, which she should! It would be a game changer moment for Los Angeles and the state. As a California Donor Table board member, we have a long history of investing in building power in communities of color, giving them the resources they need to elect people, and co-govern with leaders in office to move an agenda that addresses income disparity, childhood poverty, mass incarceration, and other systems of oppression harming communities of color.

Karen Bass is one of those leaders with deep roots in Los Angeles, a policy leader, community organizer, and founder of one of the oldest LA community based organizations — Community Coalition. She has a proven track record of passing policies that center people of color, racial equity, and progressive values. If and when she runs for mayor, we plan to support her run and invest at large scale in the community groups working to elect her. We will also be organizing other donors to do the same. This would be our collective opportunity to champion a leader who can shape Los Angeles into a progressive beacon for the nation.”
